    PROGRAM OVERVIEW

    UnTechEd (UTE) presents an International Immersion Program for Architecture students who want to undertake short-term courses to study abroad.

    The immersion program will take place in collaboration with UCSI University, Malaysia (Ranked 265th University Worldwide QS Rankings 2025, Top 1% globally). The university is located in the capital city Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is one of the leading cities in the world for tourism and shopping, the 6th most-visited city in the world in 2023. The city is known for its shopping, tourism, modern skyline, and rich history.

    The Short Immersion Program for Architecture students in Malaysia offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich architectural landscape of Southeast Asia.Through this program, students will gain hands-on exposure to contemporary and traditional Malaysian architecture, urban planning, and sustainable design practices. By visiting iconic landmarks, architectural firms, and local universities, participants will deepen their understanding of regional design influences and innovative building techniques. This immersive experience is vital for students to broaden their global perspective, enhance their design skills, and foster cross-cultural learning, preparing them to become well-rounded architects in a globalized world.

    We have carefully planned a combination of exciting masterclasses, tours, site visits, industry lectures, and hands-on learning opportunities alongside leisure and recreational activities.

    Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation from UCSI University Malaysia.

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES FOR THE ARCHITECTURE IMMERSION PROGRAM

    Heritage Conservation and Urban Regeneration:

    Understand the principles of heritage conservation and its significance in urban regeneration, with a focus on integrating traditional and modern architectural practices.

    Hands-On Modular Design Workshop:

    Participate in an interactive workshop focused on modular design, fostering creativity and innovation in solving real-world architectural challenges through sustainable and flexible design methods.

    Tutorial for River of Life Project:

    Gain in-depth knowledge about the “River of Life” urban regeneration project in Kuala Lumpur, focusing on sustainable urban development, and its integration with natural water systems.

    Final Presentation and Review for River of Life Project:

    Present project findings and designs related to the River of Life initiative, showcasing understanding and application of sustainable design principles in urban contexts, followed by a closing ceremony celebrating the students’ learning journey and achievements.
